Microsoft is extending Malicious URL Protection for Microsoft Teams to Government cloud environments, bringing additional protection against phishing, malware, and other link-based threats shared through Teams.

Microsoft Teams can detect potentially malicious URLs shared through:

🔹 Channels
🔹 Conversations between users
When a malicious link is identified, Teams can display a warning directly within the conversation—helping users recognize potentially dangerous content before interacting with it. Microsoft’s Link Protection capability scans URLs against threat-intelligence data and warns both senders and recipients when harmful links are detected.

Microsoft Teams has become an important collaboration platform—and that also makes messaging another potential delivery channel for phishing and malicious links.
Extending these protections to Government cloud environments helps organizations strengthen security directly within the collaboration experience, where users are increasingly communicating and sharing information.
